But one thing we would like to do here is some more discussions! And for that we need your help! Ever had a thought of something Chalion related that you'd like to discuss? If you'd like to lead the discussion or you'd prefer a mod to do it for you, just let us know. A mix of mod and member hosted discussions would be fabulous :) Any thoughts and suggestions below.
And I haven't forgotten the masterlist from the April Flowers Challenge, it'll be along sometime ;)
Thank you for all the wonderful entries! Don't forget to check them out and leave a review for our lovely participants!
We'll post a masterlist of entries in the next few days. If you're still working on something, or if one of the prompts inspires you in the future, don't forget to let us know (you can drop us a line here or email email@example.com) and we'll add a link on the masterlist.
This was our second challenge here at chalion_ibra and we'd really like your thoughts on how you think it went.
And so a poll:
Which challenge format do you prefer?
Was April a good month for this challenge?
Was there anything we could have done to increase your participation?
When would be the best times for next challenges to run? (Tick all times applicable)
What other activities would you like at chalion_ibra? (Tick all applicable)
Title: Come With Me
Rating and Warnings: PG, innuendo
Prompt: 14 (Eric's Song by Vienna Teng)
Format and Word Count: ficlet, 526
Summary: Caz wakes Betriz.
Author's Notes: This was a fun challenge. Thanks to the mods for putting it together. Sorry if the format and font look weird, and for the wonky post, but LJ decided to be very difficult just as I was trying to post.
( Come With MeCollapse )
Rating & Warnings: PG, no warnings
Characters/Pairing: Iselle, Ista, Liss (Iselle/Bergon, Ista/Illvin, probably Liss/Foix)
Prompt: #24, image of a fortress by the sea
Format & Word Count: WIP | 696 words so far
Summary: After the conquest of Visping, Iselle sees her mother for the first time in months. But this new Ista is someone Iselle has never known.
Author's Notes: I've been wanting to write this for a couple of weeks now, but I haven't had time to work it all out -- so here is the first part, and I'll be posting the rest at my own journal here in a few more days. (Also, I've just realized that this story is oddly appropriate to be posting on Mother's Day.)
( Mothers and DaughtersCollapse )
Rating & Warnings: rated G for gooeyness
Characters/ Pairing: Caz/Betriz
Prompt: #30, a picture of wildflowers growing in a mountain meadow
Format & Word Count: double-drabble, 200 words
Summary: The mountains inspire Caz to poetic thoughts of Betriz.
Author’s Notes: A follow-up to Bouquet. Also: I've done it! All thirty prompts! You just can't know how, as a mom of a toddler, how important it's been to me as a writer to meet a daily writing challenge. Thanks so much to everyone who's read and reviewed my fics here, encouraging me to keep going, and especially to the fabulous Katymods for putting together such an inspiring and fun challenge. I ♥ this community!
( MountainCollapse )
Rating & Warnings: rated PG-13 for sexuality
Characters/ Pairing: Bergon/Iselle
Prompt: #29, missing scene
Format & Word Count: fic, 599 words
Summary: Wedded and bedded, Iselle reflects on how her new state has changed her.
Author’s Notes: Why yes, I did write something that is not Caz, Betriz, or Caz/Betriz. I fully intended to write a missing scene for them, but while skimming CoC came across the bit where Caz observes Iselle and Bergon looking nervous and excited before their wedding night, and in love after it, and had to write that in-between bit. Or some of it, anyway. Enjoy. :)
( ConsummateCollapse )
But here at chalion_ibra April will last a few more days!
Posting for the challenge will remain open until midnight PST time on Sunday 8th May 2011!
Plenty of time to polish up your work or maybe to be inspired by another prompt or two!
The full list of prompts is here.
The challenge rules are here.
A very big thanks to those of you who have participated so far either through creating some wonderful fics or through reading and reviewing!
